Auckland Joggers

Auckland Joggers Club (AJC) President, Eric Woods, and Auckland's Mayor and AJC founding member, Colin Key, started the event in 1972 with over 12,000 participating in the 'fun run'. The Auckland Joggers Club is dedicated to promoting fitness and fostering friendships across generations. They provide programmes for those who want to start running - their beginners programme was originally created to help those that wanted to participate in the Round the Bays fun run, and support those who just want to get better and running or want to keep healthy.

A number of groups cater to different capabilities, and running/walking paces meeting every Tuesday, Thursday as well as Saturday for a run which starts from their Club Room. They're a great bunch of passionate people, who are inclusive and supportive. You don’t have to be a seasoned runner or a marathoner to join them, but they sure can help you become one!
