Take part in the capital's largest fun run - 8.4km or 21km - walk, jog, run or roll from the city around the bays to Kilbirnie Park. Grab your friends, whanau or colleagues for a fun run like no other. Your course, your choice with an optional whanau-friendly shortcut on the day for our mini athletes.
Stuff Events has joined forces with Nuku Ora to deliver the largest mass participation event in the Lower North Island. A fun Sunday morning for all ages and fitness stages!
First off, choose your Start Group. Whether you class yourself as a runner, jogger or walker or want to take part in the competitive or non-competitive mobility category.
Next up, decide on which course you'll tackle. The 8.4km is flat and a great way to enjoy the sights and views across the bays. The course kicks off on the road alongside Waitangi Park. From there, you take a left off Evans Bay Parade onto Cobham Drive, past the Troy St roundabout, then double back at Miramar Roundabout, before arriving at Kilbirnie Park.
For those high-achieving Harry Hardouts, the 21km classic is the route you know and love, down to the mm.
At the finish line, collect your well-deserved finisher's medal, a cool drink and enjoy the after-party.

For 2026, the Round the Bays theme goes ELEMENTAL — a celebration of the wild natural forces that shape Aotearoa. Each location honours a different element:
In Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, channel the heat of Fire as you blaze past the mighty Rangitoto.
In Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, embrace the power of Wind as it lifts you through the capital’s iconic waterfront.
And in Ōtautahi Christchurch, flow with the rhythm of Water alongside rivers, estuaries and open skies.
Whether you run with fire, move with the wind or roll with the tide — this is your chance to bring the elements to life.
Join us in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington on Sunday 15 February 2026. Take part as an individual, with your friends, whānau, colleagues or as part of a team.
