Wellington, we know you take your health and fitness seriously. Ride the wind through the capital at your own pace. For the goal-getters, the official Honda Half Marathon is waiting. For a fun day out, tackle the 8.4km course from Waitangi Park to Kilbirnie Park. There’s also a 5.5km family-friendly shortcut on the day for tired legs. Your city, your fitness journey, your course!

Picking your start group

Choosing a start group is about starting near people moving at your pace, so the course stays safe and enjoyable for everyone. Select the group that matches your ability: 

Elite Wheelchair (sub 36 mins), Guided-Athlete, Elite Runner (sub 36 mins), CELSIUS® Runner (36-50mins), Jogger (50-80mins), Walker and Non Elite Wheelchair  (80+ mins). For the Honda Half Marathon, select either the sub 90 minutes or over 90 minutes start group.

Who can enter?

Everyone - any age, any fitness stage. Just pick the start group that matches your pace.

What start group should I choose?

Match your expected finish time to the group description above. If in doubt, start further back — you can always move forward next time.

Can I bring a pushchair or buggy?

Yes, in the Walker/Non Elite Wheelchair group only, for everyone’s safety.

Can I create a team?

Yes - head to the Teams page to get started.

What if I can’t take part anymore?

Entries aren’t refundable, but you can transfer to someone else through your entry dashboard for a small transfer fee.
