Experience Southern Cross Round the Bays by joining our FREE Rangatahi Programme.

Round the Bays is a great way for young people to get active, put the fun into exercise and take part in one of New Zealand’s most iconic event series.

The 8.4km course is flat and everyone is welcome to take part at their own pace, making it easy for rangatahi to get involved.

Our Rangatahi Programme is open to eligible youth groups and organisations, including intermediate and secondary schools, youth services, clubs and community organisations that support and engage young people. For schools, the Programme is available to students Year 7 and above (subject to eligibility).

Spaces are limited. Email the team to find out more and check your eligibility.

With thanks to Southern Cross and to Nuku Ora for making the Rangatahi Programme possible.

About round the bays

Our Koraunui tamariki loved the Round The Bays experience, from start to stop. The kids gave it their all and were rewarded with shiny medals and delicious kai. Thank you to all that were involved in making this day such a success.

C Gilmour
Koraunui School, Lower Hutt

Round The Bays is a fun and healthy excuse for our school community to come together. It really makes a difference to the confidence of our tamariki, and allows staff members and whānau a chance to get to know each other outside of a school setting.

Royal Oak Intermediate, Auckland

Thank you so much for our free entries! It allowed students who might not have been otherwise able to participate. We had a great day out. Everyone pushed themselves and for some of them, the trip in was the first time they had ever caught a train. Thank you!

Pukekohe High School, Auckland

For many of our students, it was their first time doing something like this, so it was a great experience and opportunity. The Rangatahi Zone at the finish line is fantastic, it gives the students a chance to sit down, have something to eat, and relax a bit before heading home.

Edgewater College, Auckland

Round the Bays was well organised and a lovely flat course for beginning a journey of running/ walking and being a part of promoting healthy exercise. The kai was an added bonus and well received. It was great to see so many parents supporting their children at the finish line. Some saying they would enter themselves next year and run/ walk together.

Round The Bays was awesome and we will be taking the school again next year. The vibe is 110% and we can offer the entire experience as a school for zero cost to families. Thank you Round the Bays!

M Collins
Tuakau College, Auckland

The students had a 'windy' blast! Everyone was excited to join the event with their whānau, peers, and kaiako, having some yummy kai at the end was primo. Lots of enthusiasm for 2027. Many thanks RTB team for your temendous support.
